Memorials to Jute – the Scottish Cemetery at Calcutta

Next January Friends of Dundee City Archives talk will be given by former City Archivist Iain Flett. Iain will be speaking about the Scottish Cemetery in Kolkata and its links to Dundee. Many people in Dundee went to India to share knowledge about the Jute industry. Unfortunately many never came back and were buried in this graveyard. Here their stories at this interesting talk.

Please note that this talk will take place on the second Thursday of the month.

The talk will take place on Thursday 10th January at 1pm, in the Glasite Hall on King Street. It’s free entry to all FDCA Lunchtime Talks and everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a member of the friends. See the FDCA website for more information.
