This months talk to the Friends of Dundee City Archives will be given by David Powell, Archivist at DC Thomson. DC Thomson is well known to most Dundonians. David will give a pictorial overview of the archive collections from the earliest newspapers, long forgotten titles and treasures rarely seen by those outside the business. The archive is maintained in order to support the commercial business and although the Archive is not strictly open to the public, he’ll also outline the ways in which the archive has supported local history initiatives and projects as part of the company’s wider outreach programmes.
The talk will take place on Thursday 3rd May, at 1pm, in the Glasite Hall on King Street. It’s free entry to all FDCA Lunchtime Talks and everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a member of the friends. See the FDCA website for more information.
